Dessert

In cultures around the world, dessert is a course that typically comes at the end of a meal, usually consisting of sweet food. The word comes from the French language as dessert and this from Old French desservir, "to clear the table" and "to serve." Common Western desserts include cakes, biscuits, gelatin, pastries, ice cream, pies, and candies. Fruit may also be eaten with or as a dessert.
     All around the world, almost all country would have their own specialty of recipes for dessert. The typical ones are usually associated closely to their native ingredients. Not much is known about its origin except that the very first sweet offerings were perhaps as simple as a raw honeycomb and dried dates. Bear in mind that sugar was once a very expensive commodities and only the wealthy could get their hands on it. The boom of enjoying a great serving of desserts at the end of a meal was perhaps initiated by Marie Antoine Careme who was one of the Chef responsible for creating menus as we know of today and arrangingit in a manner where this sweet delicacies would be the crown to a perfect meal.
