Savouries

The free online dictionary defines savouries as attractive to the sense of taste or smell as well as something salty or spicy. In this section we will cover the various recipes which are not exactly dessert but never the less prepared by the Pastry kitchen. Savouries are traditionally the final course in a traditional British formal meal served before dessert. Here we will refer to savouries as anything that is not entirely sweet but is still related to baking. It could even be served as a meal by itself but one thing is for sure, Savouries will surely tickle your tastebuds. 
     A savoury dish produced in the pastry kitchen could be anything ranging from pies, pizza, muffins to even a turnover otherwise known throughout the world as curry puffs. It would usually involve one way or another the production of dough as the base or else it would be done in the Main Kitchens. Savoury items are great to be consumed as a snack before the actual mealtime for it can be prepared way in advance and freeze down till you need it. It sure beats having to prepare a sandwich for snack time as it annihilates the needs to always have a refrigerator full of ingredients around at all time. What I love most about it is that freezing it down will prevent the loss of flavors and freshness for a long period of time and it sure does wins hands on if compared to other convenience foods as it is made with no preservatives, additives or colourings as per your likings.
