Chocolate Banana Moist Cake

A Chocolate Banana Cake is a butter cake based in which the main ingredient is butter and flavoured with bananas. Considered to be among the quintessential of American baking, it does has its roots buried deep in the English Pound Cake which traditionally uses equal amount of butter, sugar, eggs and flour to produce a heavy, rich butter cake. As the years progresses by and ingredients are more diverse and easier to acquire. Many variations of the plain butter or pound cakes appeared with endless variety of 'fillings'. Banana and chocolate, two ingredients which share very little similarities but surprisingly goes very well hand in hand. This simple moist tropical cake is simply irresistable even before it leaves the oven's door. Just a whiff of the aroma is enough to get anyone craving over it.

Recipe
2 large Bananas
400 gm Sugar
2 nos Whole Egg
120 ml Milk
240 ml Warm Water
1/2 tbsp Vanilla Essence
250 gm Soft Flour
1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1 1/2 tsp Sodium Bicarbonate
75 gm Cocoa Powder
120 ml Corn Oil


Method
1) Use a whisk to mash bananas and sugar together till smooth.
2) Add in eggs slowly one by one followed by milk.
3) Add in warm water slowly.
4) Sift flour, baking powder, sodium bicarbonate and cocoa powder together and add into the batter. Add in vanilla essence as well.
5) Mix everything together till smooth. 
6) Lastly add in corn oil slowly and mix till smooth.
7) Pour batter into a 18cm (7") square cake pan filling it till half.
8) Bake in oven at 180C (356F) for 45 minutes till cook. Insert a toothpick into centre of cake when done. If inserted toothpick comes out clean, your cake is done.
